"This new alien spanking romance started out pretty much as one would expect, given the title and the genre. However, there is a major plot twist near the mid-point of the story that takes it in a completely unexpected direction and really sets it apart from the usual course of action. Of course, being a Loki Renard story, there are lots of really intense spankings, both disciplinary and erotic, the sex scenes are both varied and graphic, and a loving & trusting romantic relationship is developed. I have always enjoyed her stories, but this just might be my favorite of all. Everything is here for your reading enjoyment, just be sure you have allowed lots of dedicated reading time because you won’t want to put it down. 5 Stars."

The Alien Patient Loki Renard 9781546881902 Books Reviews
- I really enjoy Loki Renard books and they seem to get better and better. Even though this book has plenty of $ex and $pankings, it is the actual story that makes it so enjoyable. Serkan, our alien doctor, has always wanted something more which is why he left his world to be an observer. His accidental discovery of and aid to an injured human sets of a chain of events that has a ripple effect over the whole planet. Faith is an awesome, sassy, human that shows her true spirit in just about every verbal exchange in which she participates. The author did a fantastic job of building a new world and populating it with strange customs and philosophies. Poor Faith is truly a fish out of water on Serkan's planet. The author gives us an awesome plot with a twist worthy of some of my favorite sci-fi/fantasy authors (Anne McCaffrey, Mercedes Lackey, Piers Anthony). The piece de resistance is an epilogue that lets us know what happened to our main characters.
- I've read plenty of stories about Human abduction into an alien civilization who views us as nothing but rutting monkeys and deserve only to be treated as zoological curiosities or pets. They went nowhere with me because of the underlying hypocrisies of such attitudes. (In other words, if we are so minimally sentient, then why are we the subject of sexual usage/molestation despite such views?) In fact, I was rather afraid this ebook would boil down to head-talking about what are the redeeming factors that Humans have, if any. Not like we can justify our existence in the eyes of self-serving, morally righteous extraterrestrials.
No, it didn't.
Okay, I don't mind a little slap-and tickle, but there is a strange lesson to be learned about it. We Humans are what we are, and yes, we can have our brains reprogrammed even with such Luddite behavioral modification methods. That's just how we are wired. We like pleasure. And sometimes, pain can be manipulated into pleasure, thus reworking how we might behave in the future. Hell, even a Candida albicans infestation of the Human body can program the brain to crave sugar and sweets so that the yeast can continue to flourish in our bodies. I am rather pleased that the writer actually took the time to weave medical fact within fiction so well without just banging it into our heads with a "two-bee-four".
But it also points out the fact that there really isn't such a thing as a utopia, even for highly sentient entities. Perhaps that is our only redeeming quality as Humans that we resist and question and do the opposite of what we are told. That might not save us from exterminating ourselves in the future, but it does allow us to detect bullish** and to call it for what it is.
When I finally finished this novel, I have to say that I was duly satisfied with the time I used up to read it. I hate reading something then thinking "I wasted HOW MUCH TIME over this slop?" I was even more surprised to discover that I actually BOUGHT this book rather than read it under my Unlimited plan. Especially from a writer I've never read before. Hmm... I wonder where my brain was when I made this decision... Oh well, I am definitely NOT unhappy I did so. This is a book I would go back and reread a number of times, and weirdly enough, I am placing it in my editorial library to be a source on how to be more than just titillating reading material for those who get off on spanking. There is excellent writing-craft involved here that I will be referring to in the future. I do not do this often, especially now that everyone with a story in his/her head are self-publishing without an editor.
Kudos to you, Loki. *hee hee* (Sorry, it's a very private joke...) - Loved this out of this world sci-fi adventure! Not as harsh as some of her other books. I was drawn into the story from the first page. Some great sex and some not too severe spankings make this a winning combination! Five out of this world stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
- I just could not get into this story. I like many of this author's other books and have re-read most of them, but this was a "one and done" for me. I did not really like either of the MC's, although I liked the male more than the female. There is nothing I can pinpoint that I disliked, the book just did not resonate with me. If you like this author, there is a good chance you will like this also.
- This was a very good book. The plot took it beyond the literal sex and spanking to exposing a society of BS. It was good and fun!
- Normally I really like anything that Loki Renard writes. And, I mostly like this. I like Faith. I like the sex scenes. I don't like Serkan at all. I think he's overly dismissive of Faith's feelings, doesn't defend her, and shows that he doesn't trust her.
The book is well written, like anything Loki writes. The only reason this is getting a 3 is because of my dislike of the H. Your mileage may vary. - I could not finish this book.
